Het voorgestelde onderzoeksplan richt zich op het beantwoorden van de hoofdonderzoeksvraag: Hoe kan de infrastructuur-specifieke besluitvorming worden ondersteund om toekomstige patronen van het gebruik van wegen, waterwegen en spoorwegen te faciliteren in het licht van klimaatverandering?

Het doel van dit onderzoeksplan is om bij te dragen aan de kennis en het begrip van de weerbaarheid van multimodale transportsystemen tegen extreem weer en klimaatverandering. Dit wordt bereikt door een systemische benadering op systeemniveau, waarbij de kwetsbaarheid van het huidige transportsysteem in kaart wordt gebracht en inzicht wordt verkregen in de adaptatie van transportinfrastructuur.

The proposed research plan focuses on answering the main research question: How can infrastructure-specific decision-making be supported to facilitate future patterns of the use of roads, waterways, and railways in light of climate change?

The goal of this research plan is to contribute to the knowledge and understanding of the resilience of multimodal transport systems against extreme weather and climate change. This is achieved through a systemic approach at the system level, mapping the vulnerability of the current transport system and gaining insight into the adaptation of transport infrastructure.
