The 2D morphological model for the Meuse is under development since 2020. One of the wishes with respect to this model is the extension of the upstream model boundary from Lixhe to Monsin. This is expected to minimize the influence of boundary
conditions on the morphological development downstream of Lixhe. Different steps were required to extend the model from Lixhe to Monsin. Firstly, the schematisation baseline_maas_j21_6-v1 was extended by the measure (me_extensieLixheMonsin_a4) resulting in baseline_maas_j21_6-v2. Secondly, the 40m grid was extended to Monsin, Thirdly, a simple D-RTC configuration of the weirs at Monsin and Lixhe was added, and finally the roughness and calibration definitions were extended from the upstream reach of the original Meuse model. The current report shows a first application of the extended hydrodynamic model from
Monsin to Keizersveer using a standard dynamic wave with a maximum peak of 4100m3/s. The simulation was able to run and showed good agreement with the original run from Eijsden to Keizersveer.
