The purpose of this study is to test the existing EWACS model framework (Deltares, 2008, 2009) in Lake Gooimeer over the 2009 summer, comparing the model output with more detailed field validation data to provide a much better assessment of model performance thanwhat was possible in the previous studies. The results of the study indicate that model assessment remains extremely difficult when comparing the different sources of non-quantitative field data to the model output in order to score overall model performance.
