In this report we reviewed some of the measures which could be used for regulating the discharge entering the side channel behind the longitudinal dams. We analyse the effect of several measures for the most upstream side channel, behind the longitudinal dam at Wamel. The results obtained can be used as indicative for the other side channels. In this study we focus on the hydraulic effect of the measures and no morphological analysis has been carried out. The only measure which leads to desired flow decrease on the side channel without influencing the MHW water levels is the closure of the inlet to the elevations agreed during the permission issue (vergunning). The other analysed measures were either not very effective in significantly lowering the discharge entering the side channel or had an effect of more than 1 mm on the MHW water levels.
